Role OverviewThe Desktop Support Technician provides first-hand technical support for end users in a Windows environment. This entry-level role focuses on troubleshooting workstation issues, supporting hardware and software, and delivering a positive customer experience. The position is ideal for someone starting their IT career who is eager to learn hands-on desktop support in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide deskside and remote support for Windows workstations
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic connectivity issues
- Assist with Windows operating system setup, configuration, and updates
- Support Microsoft Office applications and common business software
- Set up and support peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mice, and printers
- Assist with new-hire workstation setup and basic onboarding tasks
- Document incidents and resolutions using a ticketing system
- Escalate issues appropriately when additional support is required
Required Skills & Qualifications- Basic experience or coursework supporting Windows desktop environments
- Familiarity with Windows 10 and/or Windows 11
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Willingness to learn IT processes and troubleshoot methodically
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
Preferred / Nice to Have- Exposure to Active Directory concepts (user accounts, passwords, access)
- Experience using a ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar)
- Prior internship, school lab, or help desk experience
Ideal Candidate- Entry-level or early-career IT professional
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working directly with end users
- Interested in growing into desktop, systems, or infrastructure support roles

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
