About the Role
Our firm is partnering with a large, enterprise-scale organization undergoing a high-visibility transformation of its developer tooling ecosystem. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to support a strategic migration from a self-hosted GitHub Enterprise Server environment to GitHub Enterprise Cloud.

This role will play a critical part in accelerating migration progress across a broad technology organization by driving communication, coordination, and execution across multiple engineering portfolios. The TPM will operate at the center of highly cross-functional workstreams, partnering with platform engineers, portfolio leads, and designated migration representatives to ensure readiness, visibility, and accountability throughout the migration lifecycle.

The Technical Project Manager will own day-to-day execution of a complex, enterprise-wide GitHub migration, ensuring teams are prepared, risks are identified early, and progress toward milestones remains on track. Migration completion is targeted for July 31, 2026, making strong delivery discipline and escalation management essential to success.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Driving daily project management activities for the migration from GitHub Enterprise Server (data?center hosted) to GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
  • Coordinating with designated Migration Captains across multiple VP-level portfolios to track readiness, monitor progress, and follow up on open actions.
  • Leading migration communications, including meeting cadence, status reporting, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partnering closely with GitHub platform administrators and internal engineering teams to identify risks, manage dependencies, and remove blockers.
  • Facilitating recurring working sessions and leadership forums, ensuring action items and decisions are documented and driven to completion.
  • Tracking portfolio-level migration progress and supporting reporting and visibility for senior leaders.
  • Proactively escalating risks, delays, and issues to help keep the overall migration timeline on track.
  • Driving accountability across engineering teams to support timely and successful migration outcomes.
  • Coordinating the operational rhythm around migration enablement, including Open Labs, Workshops, and user support channels.
  • Monitoring common themes, questions, and recurring issues emerging through support channels and using those insights to inform communications, follow-ups, and risk escalation.
Requirements
Required
  • Proven experience leading large-scale technical or IT migration programs within an enterprise environment
  • Experience with GitHub
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline management, risk and dependency tracking, and escalation management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineering teams and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating cross-functional meetings and driving execution across multiple teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Familiarity with software development environments, engineering workflows, and developer platforms such as GitHub

Preferred
  • Experience supporting developer tooling transformations, platform migrations, or cloud-based transitions
  • Background in coordinating technical enablement efforts such as office hours, workshops, adoption communications, or change management initiatives
  • Experience partnering with platform engineering or DevOps organizations
  • Prior experience working in large, matrixed technology organizations
