Job Description:
Senior Network Engineer

Location: Hanover Park, Illinois (Partial Remote, 4 days onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to manage and support data center network infrastructure across multiple client environments. This role is responsible for the design, maintenance, and security of switching, routing, and wireless systems supporting large-scale client hardware and software deployments. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Cisco and Palo Alto expertise, strong architecture skills, and a proactive, client-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage two data centers supporting 90+ client networks built on Cisco switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Provide network security through next-generation (NGFW) Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Support switching, routing, and wireless operations for client hardware and software mass deployments.
  • Design network connectivity architecture aligned to business and client goals.
  • Maintain client relationships, network connectivity, and hardware inventory; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, management, and cyber security.
  • Lead and support spine-and-leaf network deployments to improve data center performance through low-latency, higher-bandwidth design.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in network engineering within a data center or managed services environment.
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience configuring and managing Palo Alto NGFW firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and collaboration with cyber security teams.
  • Experience designing network connectivity architecture for multi-client environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple client networks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with spine-and-leaf data center architecture.
  • Familiarity with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and VLAN/segmentation design.
  • Experience supporting client hardware/software mass deployments.
