Our client seeks a Senior Data Engineer with Application DBA expertise to design, build, optimize, and support enterprise data platforms. The role combines advanced data engineering with hands-on database administration to ensure availability, performance, and scalability across Oracle, Snowflake, and modern analytics environments.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $65.00 to $70.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

Administer, monitor, and tune Oracle databases supporting critical applications.
Manage database performance including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution plans.
Perform database maintenance such as backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
Support application teams in database design and troubleshooting.
Develop and maintain dimensional and normalized data models.
Build and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions across Oracle and Snowflake.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Informatica and Python.
Ensure efficient ingestion, transformation, and integration of structured and unstructured data.
Support and enhance Oracle Analytics Server reporting environments.
Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and usability.
Optimize data structures for reporting performance.
Implement best practices for Snowflake architecture, cost optimization, and performance.
Work with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB for semi-structured and unstructured data.
Write efficient, reusable, and scalable code using Python and SQL.
Automate data workflows, monitoring, and alerting.
Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines and database deployments.
Ensure data quality, consistency, security, validation, cleansing, and lineage tracking.
Adhere to corporate data governance and compliance standards.

Experience Requirements:

7+ years in data engineering and database administration.
Application DBA experience with Oracle Database.
Informatica ETL development and data warehousing expertise.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Oracle Analytics Server, Python, and advanced SQL.
Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
Preferred: Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
Preferred: Modern data stack tools such as dbt and Airflow.
Preferred: Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred: Experience supporting high-volume OLTP systems.
Preferred: Exposure to data governance and security frameworks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance and reliability.
Ability to balance development and operational DBA responsibilities and collaborate with stakeholders.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
