Job Description: IT Systems Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure and systems. The role will support day-to-day IT operations and ensure systems are secure, reliable, and available.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support servers, systems, and IT infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, access, and system configurations.
• Perform system updates, patches, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
• Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with IT security, access controls, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations.
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Good understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
• Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user management, and access controls.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Python, or Shell.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Understanding of security best practices and endpoint management.
