Description SAIC is seeking a Spacecraft Operations, Maintenance, and Test Engineer to join our Roxborough Park, CO based team. The position provides direct support to the local government customer on spacecraft satellite integration, test, on-orbit test, operations & maintenance (O&M), and on-orbit anomaly resolution.
Monitor baseline integration and test planning and execution by attending prime contractor daily status and planning meetings and observing operation activities.
Evaluate contractor plans/schedules for both contract baseline spacecraft/ground activities and changes proposed to the baseline. Provide recommendations to the customer on the technical, cost, and schedule scope of the proposed plans and schedules.
Serve as customer representative to real-time operational activities by participating on the support team for anomaly response.
Serve on the anomaly team attending status meetings, coordinating solutions to technical issues, plan and conduct rehearsals, and support of recovery activities.
Serve on-call to resolve spacecraft anomalies, minimize loss of operations time, and safely return the spacecraft to operations.
Evaluate pros, cons, and risks of alternative courses of action across all spacecraft subsystems and provide clear explanations to the customer who may have limited experience.
Advise the customer on contract actions to include requirements development, Statement of Work generation, proposal evaluation, BOE validity, and award fee recommendations.
Provide infrequent second shift or weekend support to baseline deliveries, operations or rehearsal activities.
Occasional travel in the US about 3-5 times a year for about 3 days per trip.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience Engineering/science degree or significant applicable experience with satellite or satellite operations.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in spacecraft operations and maintenance or ground baseline development, recapitalization and procurement.
Flexible self-starter with good communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Current or recent TS/SCI with polygraph
Desired Skills: Cyber Security experience
Program safety and contact operations experience
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
