Software Developer 3 - Appian Certified Developer

Position Overview

The Texas Department of Information Resources is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer 3 – Appian Certified Developer to design, develop, and deploy business applications using the Appian low-code platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, Agile methodology experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The selected candidate must hold an Appian Level 2 Senior Developer Certification (vendor must provide certification copy with submission).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Appian applications using SAIL interfaces and Process Models
• Develop integrations with external systems via APIs and web services
• Optimize UI performance and ensure responsive user interfaces
• Write and execute unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders for validation and solution delivery
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues proactively
• Ensure code quality, documentation, and adherence to development standards

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Agile methodology
• 8+ years of strong design, development, and analytical experience
• 8+ years of effective communication and teamwork experience
• 3+ years of Appian Level 2 Senior Developer Certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  (Equivalent work experience may substitute; High School Diploma required)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Appian or other low-code platform development experience
• Experience with GAMS (Government Acquisition Management Suite)
• Strong understanding of API integrations and enterprise application architecture
• Experience working in government or public sector environments
