Apex Systems is hiring a Network Engineer in Austin, TX! We're looking for an experienced
CCNP-level Network Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and supporting complex enterprise and global network environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging networking problems, driving modernization efforts, and working across data center, campus, wireless, and network automation initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in the architecture, deployment, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure, while helping drive automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and maintain enterprise Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments
Deploy and support wireless infrastructure, including Wireless Access Points and Wireless Controllers
Architect and support scalable campus and data center networking solutions
Manage routing and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VRRP, MC-LAG, STP, VTP, and PortChannels
Develop network automation capabilities using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and orchestration tools
Troubleshoot complex performance, reliability, and connectivity issues across enterprise environments
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to improve network stability
Design and implement secure network solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency
Partner with vendors, engineers, and business stakeholders on network projects and strategic initiatives
Create network documentation, diagrams, operational procedures, and technical roadmaps
Participate in change management, incident response, testing, upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts
What We're Looking For
5+ years of Network Engineering experience
Strong hands-on expertise with:
- Cisco, Arista, Dell, or Juniper networking platforms
- Enterprise routing and switching
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security fundamentals
- Wireless networking technologies
- Data center and campus networking environments
Experience with:
- Python scripting
- Ansible automation
- REST APIs
- Network programmability and automation frameworks
Ability to lead technical initiatives, support large-scale infrastructure projects, and mentor junior engineers
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Background
CCNP-level networking expertise
Experience designing and supporting global enterprise network environments
Knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure modernization, and automation strategies
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
