Waters is seeking a Cloud Lead - Sr. Principal, Enterprise Cloud (AWS & Azure) to join our Global One Cloud team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership for enterprise cloud engineering initiatives, including onboarding new workloads, application modernization, multi-cloud governance, landing zones, and secure cloud platform adoption.

A successful candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS and Azure, cloud-native architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and enterprise governance. As a senior technical leader, you will partner with Architecture, Security, Engineering, and Business teams to define standards, drive modernization, and enable secure, compliant, and highly available cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise cloud engineering strategy across AWS and Azure, establishing standards, governance, and best practices.
  • Drive onboarding and integration of new enterprise workloads through scalable landing zones and cloud platform capabilities.
  • Lead application rationalization, cloud modernization, and cloud-native transformation initiatives.
  • Define and implement cloud architectures for networking, identity, security, resiliency, observability, and automation.
  • Own Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation strategies using Terraform and CI/CD platforms.
  • Ensure cloud environments meet corporate, regulatory, and GxP compliance requirements through secure-by-design architectures.
  • Partner with Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Application teams to deliver reliable and cost-optimized cloud platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance across the Global One Cloud organization.

Qualifications

Abilities that will help you be successful:
  • 12+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or Enterprise Infrastructure roles.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation frameworks, and CI/CD platforms.
  • Deep understanding of cloud governance, landing zones, security, compliance, and GxP-regulated environments.
  • Experience leading enterprise cloud transformation initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to simplify complex technical challenges.
  • Experience leading efforts in agile/scrum environments with knowledge of project planning, staffing, and estimating in an agile software development process.
  • Experience managing off-shore teams as well as SI partners

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology or related experience
