Our firm is partnering with a rapidly growing, technology-driven organization in the renewable energy and distributed services industry to identify an experienced Network Engineer. This role supports a large, hybrid networking environment that combines modern cloud-native infrastructure with traditional enterprise networks.
The Network Engineer will play a key role in designing, operating, and automating highly available network systems that connect corporate offices, multiple branch locations, field operations, and cloud-based platforms. The environment supports mission-critical operations and requires a strong focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
Job Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and automation of enterprise and cloud networking solutions. This role spans on-premises infrastructure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a focus on maintaining high availability, optimizing performance, and enabling secure connectivity across a distributed organization.

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and automation of enterprise and cloud networking solutions. This role spans on-premises infrastructure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a focus on maintaining high availability, optimizing performance, and enabling secure connectivity across a distributed organization.
Core Networking & Enterprise Infrastructure
- Administer and optimize enterprise network environments using Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms
- Manage and support a distributed branch networking model using the Cisco Meraki stack (MX, MS, MR), including Dashboard administration and API-based automation
- Support Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments, including:
- Routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Spanning Tree implementations (RSTP and MST)
- Implement and support secure access and connectivity solutions, including:
- Cisco ISE for 802.1x authentication
- Zone-Based Firewalls
- Site-to-site IPsec VPNs and client VPN solutions
- Design, build, and scale AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), including subnets, route tables, and gateways
- Implement and manage hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS using:
- AWS Transit Gateway
- AWS Direct Connect
- Optimize traffic flow, availability, and security using:
- Application Load Balancers (ALB)
- Network Access Control Lists (NACLs)
- Ensure reliable and secure connectivity between distributed locations and cloud-hosted services
- Define and deploy network infrastructure using Terraform (HCL)
- Develop reusable Terraform modules to standardize and accelerate network deployments
- Manage Terraform state using S3 and DynamoDB
- Utilize planning, validation, and CI/CD workflows to reduce configuration drift and support controlled changes
- Promote Infrastructure as Code best practices and reduce reliance on manual configuration methods
Required
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure engineering roles
- Strong expertise in enterprise networking, including routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, and Meraki environments
- Experience managing Palo Alto firewalls
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Experience with network security concepts such as 802.1x, VPNs, and network segmentation
- Solid understanding of AWS networking services, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, ALB, and NACLs
- Practical experience using Terraform to manage infrastructure in production environments
- Experience supporting hybrid (on-premises and cloud) and distributed enterprise environments with multiple locations
- Ability to support environments with high availability and strict uptime requirements
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional)
- Cisco certifications (CCNP or higher)
- Experience with network monitoring and observability tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
- Experience working in high-growth or rapidly scaling environments
