Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS400 / IBM i Developer with strong COBOL experience to support and enhance existing legacy applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform, with strong knowledge of COBOL and DB2.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot applications on the AS400 / IBM i platform.
Design, code, test, debug, and implement programs using COBOL.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform application enhancements, production support, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
Work with DB2 for i databases, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and data analysis.
Develop and maintain batch jobs, reports, interfaces, and file-processing programs.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Work with business analysts, functional teams, and other technical teams to understand requirements.
Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
Support system integration and data interfaces with internal and external applications.
Maintain and enhance existing legacy applications while following development and change-management standards.

Required Skills

5+ years of experience with AS400 / IBM i development
Strong hands-on experience with COBOL / COBOL/400
Strong knowledge of DB2 for i / DB2
Experience with RPG / RPGLE is a plus
Experience with CL / CLLE
Strong knowledge of AS400/IBM i development and production support
Experience with SQL
Knowledge of IBM i objects, libraries, jobs, job queues, and batch processing
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience working in a production support environment
Good communication and ability to work independently in a remote environment
