Cable Technician - Tech I & Tech II (On-Site) - New Albany, OH

Contract Type: Contract-to-Hire (4 months)
Pay Range: $21.00-$30.00/hr (depending on Tech I vs. Tech II level)

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 10-hour shifts
• Overtime as needed on weekends
• Shifts:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Flexibility required as shift assignments vary based on project needs.

Overview

We are hiring Cable Technicians for a large data center new construction project. We are actively hiring:

Technician I - Entry Level

• Great for candidates with exposure to construction, electrical, warehouse, telecom, or other hands-on work.
• Training provided.

Technician II - Experienced

• Requires at least 2 years of experience in structured cabling/telecom.
• Must be able to lead small teams and handle advanced testing/troubleshooting.

Tech I Responsibilities (Entry-Level)

• Assist with pulling and installing low-voltage cabling.
• Help install Microduct and cable pathways.
• Learn to use testing tools and basic troubleshooting.
• Follow supervisor and Tech II lead instructions.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Follow all construction site safety guidelines.

Tech II Responsibilities (Experienced/Lead Role)

• Pull and install 4" Microduct using proper labeling standards.
• Perform advanced cable testing and troubleshooting.
• Identify active voice/data circuits.
• Lead small teams of installers and coordinate daily workload.
• Ensure quality, safety, and project timelines are met.
• Complete required documentation (timesheets, work orders, material tracking).
• Work on a large-scale data center new construction site.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
• Lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish color codes.
• Reliable attendance required.

Tools

• All tools are provided.

Education & Experience Requirements

Tech I

• High school diploma or GED.
• Any technical/construction experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn.

Tech II

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of telecom/structured cabling experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and lead small teams.
• Knowledge of color codes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.
