Summary

Technology is at the heart of Disney's past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more - all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally.

The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company's media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.

Here are a few reasons why we think you'd love working here:
  • Building the future of Disney's media: Our Technologists are designing and building the products and platforms that will power our media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.
  • Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney's technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company's brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News...and many more. These products and brands - and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry - matter to millions of people globally.
  • Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.

Commerce, Data & Identity provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney's media businesses. These include initiatives and products that power digital commerce, identity, and growth, as well as those that reach uniquely across The Walt Disney Company enterprise, such as messaging and privacy, among others. Additionally, it is responsible for the data engineering, science, and products for Disney Entertainment & ESPN, along with their interconnection with other parts of The Walt Disney Company.

About The Role

The Content Data Products team is the engine behind Disney's content intelligence - ideating, building, and managing the data products that unlock the full value of Disney's content portfolio across every distribution channel. As a Senior PM II on the Content Data Products team, you will shape how one of the world's most iconic entertainment companies understands, values, and acts on its content, across every screen, every platform, and every audience globally. At its core, this role owns the data products that tell Disney's content story - viewership patterns, engagement signals, metadata infrastructure, and the enablement layer that puts all of it in the hands of decision-makers across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Marvel Studios, ABC News, and more

Few product roles sit at the convergence of Media & Entertainment, Data Intelligence, Product Management and AI-driven transformation. This one does. You will partner with a wide cross-section of stakeholders from data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to financial analysts and content programming executives - all relying on content data insights to drive critical business decisions. Success in this role requires fluency across data warehousing, data processing pipelines, analytics platforms, and BI tooling, layered with the business domain knowledge to translate raw data signals into decisions that matter.

This is a high-visibility role that demands an exceptional ability to navigate complex organizational structures, build trusted relationships across diverse functional teams, and move with speed and confidence in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. The right candidate doesn't wait for clarity - they create it.

Responsibilities
  • Become the institutional expert on how content data is used, interpreted, and acted upon - translating the nuanced needs of analysts and business leaders into product roadmaps that deliver measurable impact.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate product delivery, enhance data quality, and surface insights faster - actively championing AI adoption across the team.
  • Own core product documentation including business case proposals, product memos, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, build vs. buy recommendations, user stories, and UAT preparedness, ensuring every artifact drives alignment, accelerates decisions, and leaves no room for ambiguity.
  • Partner across the full data organization - Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Architecture, Governance, and Program Management to deliver cost-effective, high-impact data solutions at scale.
  • Ensure Content Data Products are positioned within the broader context of enterprise data architecture, analytics modernization, and AI-driven transformation.
  • Guide solution architecture discussions where clarity around product capabilities, roadmap direction, and integration patterns are critical - serving as the connective tissue between technical teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive multiple scrum teams end-to-end: backlog refinement, prioritization of short and long-term business needs, product and feature launch communications, and user onboarding.
  • Operate comfortably in ambiguous, high impact environments - identifying risks, resolving blockers, and driving forward with confidence and clarity when the path isn't fully defined.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment where priorities are clear, wins are celebrated, progress is visible, and every stakeholder understands the impact of what's being built.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7+ years of product management experience with strong focus on building and delivering successful data products, services and capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required, such as Engineering, Math, Science, Economics, etc.
  • Strong foundational understanding of Big Data ecosystems to make trade-off decisions while developing end to end solutions on Cloud/On-Prem/Hybrid Data tech stack.
  • Experience balancing new product development with maintaining day-to-day data reporting operations in a very large scale enterprise set up
  • Experience utilizing both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis techniques and familiarity with common data science models and approaches to problem-solving. Generally: the ability to plan for what analysts and data scientists need to deliver.
  • Planning acumen and proven ability to break down work, define an MVP, as well as subsequent iterations and track feature adoption to inform roadmap development.
  • Experience demonstrating leadership, self-motivation, accountability with strong technical, strategic and problem-solving skills to drive change in a large matrix organization.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate product work, with the intellectual curiosity and adaptability to continuously learn and experiment as new frameworks emerge.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science, MBA, etc. preferred.
  • Experience with Media or Entertainment Industry data sets (Examples include video content metadata, box office performance, Nielsen ratings etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization and BI reporting tools (Tableau, Looker, Microstrategy etc.) coupled with strong storytelling skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience or knowledge of basic programming (SQL, R, Python) and Data management technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, MongoDB, Redis, Couchbase, AirFlow, MySQL etc.)
