Description
We are looking for a seasoned Programmer/Analyst with strong SQL and ETL development expertise to support critical financial applications. This role requires a blend of hands-on development and production support experience, with a focus on MS SQL Server and SSIS-based data integration. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability while partnering closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Build, enhance, and optimize ETL workflows using SSIS for data integration and transformation.
Monitor and support production jobs; troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Perform database performance tuning and query optimization.
Support incident management processes and maintain system stability in production environments.
Requirements
Core Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in application development and production support.
Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server, including T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
3+ years of hands-on experience with ETL development using SSIS.
Experience with C# (2+ years), VB.NET (1+ year), and Python (1+ year).
Experience with batch processing and scripting (e.g., Groovy).
Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based environments.
Strong understanding of relational database design and data modeling principles.
Proven experience supporting production systems, including job monitoring and incident resolution.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with job scheduling tools such as Control-M, Zena, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with version control tools such as GitHub.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
Background supporting financial systems or enterprise-level applications.
