Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lead Data Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ or Charlotte, NC. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. In this role, you will work with the enterprise information warehouse as a specialized ETL backend developer. You will be part of the Data & Insights team, building data platforms to deliver strategic information and insights to the business. This position involves analyzing new development requests, designing and developing new ETL processes, testing, and deploying them into production, with a focus on migration to Google Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities: - Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large-scale data processing framework initiatives
- Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
- Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges
- Oversee data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables
- Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals
Requirements: - 6+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 6+ years of strong experience with Ab Initio, Spark Core, Spark SQL, Data Frames, and Datasets
- 3+ years of experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- 3+ years of data warehouse experience and SQL experience (Teradata, SQL, PL/SQL)
- Strong experience with Teradata, Hadoop, Hive, Autosys, Airflow, BigQuery, and SparkFlow
- Good understanding of distributed systems, parallel processing, and Spark architecture
- Experience with end-to-end project execution in data engineering
- Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum
- Fluent in communication
Desired skills: - Prior experience leading teams and running major programs
- Good knowledge of non-relational DBMS platforms (e.g., MongoDB) and real-time data streaming via Kafka
- Working knowledge in developing end-to-end ML/AI pipelines in Apache Spark, Sparkling Waters, H2O, and experience with LLMs
- Experience with Agentic AI frameworks
- Proficient in large-scale data processing, with hands-on experience with different file formats and a strong understanding of Unix commands & Shell scripting
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud deployment best practices
Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
