Job Summary & Responsibilities Onto Innovation is seeking a
Software Engineer III to join our team in Wilmington, Massachusetts location. This role is part of team developing our next-generation proprietary semiconductor capital equipment used in inspection and metrology for advanced packaging applications, including AI and other emerging technologies.
Specialized Expertise This position requires deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in
Motion control systems for precision equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer and product requirements into functional specifications
- Design and implement algorithms for defect detection and metrology
- Design and implement software for motion control sub-systems
- Conduct design verification and system-level integration testing
- Present technical solutions to application and product management teams
- Support beta installations and evaluations at customer sites
Qualifications
- 3 years of C++/C# software development experience
- Experience in controlling mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience in motion control, motion tuning, DIO
- Experience in semiconductor capital equipment development desired
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%

Compensation & Growth Base Salary Range:
$96,800.00 - $145,200.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
