Summary

Our Client, A well-established professional services organization based in Downtown, New York, is seeking a Desktop Engineer to support and optimize enterprise endpoint environments. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting of Windows operating systems, virtual desktop infrastructure, productivity applications, and mobile device platforms. The position also plays a key role in endpoint deployment, configuration management, and automation within a modern Microsoft ecosystem. This individual will work closely with internal technology teams to resolve complex issues, enhance endpoint performance, and ensure secure and efficient device management across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for endpoint issues related to Windows operating systems, virtual desktop environments, productivity applications, mobile devices, and enterprise software.
Serve as a subject matter expert for modern endpoint management platforms, including device configuration, software deployment, and policy enforcement.
Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment workflows for operating systems, applications, and updates using enterprise endpoint management tools.
Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to implement and enforce endpoint security and configuration standards.
Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and operational procedures related to endpoint management and troubleshooting.
Identify opportunities to improve endpoint reliability, performance, and user experience.
Create and maintain customized operating system images, application packages, and drivers for supported devices and virtual desktop environments.
Package and deploy new or updated enterprise applications on a recurring basis.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and configuration issues while minimizing disruption to end users.
Manage and maintain Group Policy and related configuration frameworks in support of enterprise desktop environments.
Coordinate with external vendors when resolving third-party hardware or software issues.
Utilize enterprise device management tools for patching, software distribution, and asset inventory.
Maintain secure and compliant endpoint environments through regular updates and configuration management.
Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline device administration and operational tasks.
Implement scripting solutions to reduce manual processes and increase operational efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience in endpoint engineering or enterprise desktop infrastructure support.
Strong expertise with Windows operating systems and enterprise desktop environments, including troubleshooting and lifecycle management.
Experience with modern endpoint management platforms used for configuration, deployment, and reporting.
Experience supporting mobile device platforms in a corporate environment.
Deep knowledge of productivity application troubleshooting, including integrations and add-ins.
Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting languages for automation and diagnostics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience documenting processes and solutions.
Experience with enterprise security tools such as endpoint protection or device compliance platforms.
Familiarity with Group Policy and enterprise configuration management.
Experience using advanced endpoint troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.

EDUCATION

Bachelor''s degree preferred.
Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
