HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
As a board designer in the Hardware Engineering team, you will be working in conjunction with the team that develops all first Si hardware boards, backend packaged test components, and systems for the AMD/Xilinx Adaptive Embedded Computing products. This role involves strategic planning, technical acumen, and working in a team environment to ensure the successful design and delivery of cutting-edge hardware solutions.
THE PERSON:
The Hardware Engineering team plays a crucial role in shaping the company's technology platform and ensuring the successful development of hardware components that contribute to the organization's overall success be able to design hardware as needed to support the on time delivery of first Si.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Partnership: Develop and communicate hardware design strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
• Hardware Development: Drive core aspects of the hardware design process, from concept to production, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, qualification, pattern development, and characterization engineering teams, program management, and the NPI and production test sites, to ensure seamless integration of hardware components with the overall ATE and bench platforms.
• Technology Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in hardware design to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Demonstrated team collaboration in working with an engineering team with proficiency in providing self-guidance initiatives and delivering on time performance to scheduled goals.
• Strong experience in high-speed PCB design, layout and schematic.
o Proficiency in Cadence Allegro and Capture CIS.
o ATE and Characterization board development on Advantest T2000 and 93K ATE platforms preferred.
o Power distribution network design for PCB and multiphase power regulation.
o SI & PI simulation experience using Cadence Sigrity, Ansys Siwave, and HFSS 3D simulation software is a plus.
o Automation tools scripting using Python/C/C++ and AI experience is a plus
• Experience with initial bring up and debug of ATE/bench boards and finding root cause of design and fabrication failures, including use of oscilloscope, multimeters, and basic hand tools in a lab environment.
• Understanding of AMD/Xilinx comprehensive multi-node FPGA and 3D IC technology portfolio, different functional blocks, and package migration strategy.
• Knowledge in automated equipment used for device testing, robotics in handling of packaged devices, and knowledge of thermal equipment used to control temperature dissipation of high wattage devices is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
