Position Summary

The Associate Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer supports product compliance and testing activities to ensure products meet applicable regulatory, safety, environmental, and performance requirements. This role is heavily focused on hands-on testing, laboratory evaluation, documentation, and coordination with engineering teams and external test laboratories. The engineer will assist in planning and executing compliance tests, analyzing results, and supporting new product development efforts from concept through production release.

This position reports to the Director of Regulatory Compliance.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working individually and collaboratively, staying on top of tasks, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating between program teams and Sr. Regulatory staff
  • Perform product testing and evaluation to support compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, environmental, and industry standards.
  • Assist in developing and executing test plans, test procedures, and validation protocols.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment, fixtures, and laboratory tools.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data, preparing clear and concise technical reports.
  • Support product certification activities with third-party regulatory agencies and testing laboratories.
  • Coordinate compliance testing schedules and monitor project milestones.
  • Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and support corrective action activities.
  • Maintain regulatory files, certification documentation, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with product development, quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams to address compliance requirements.
  • Assist in researching evolving regulatory standards and communicating impacts to stakeholders.
  • Support internal audits, supplier evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives related to compliance and testing activities.
  • Participate in laboratory setup, test method development, and implementation of new testing capabilities.

Required

  • Associate Degree in a technical discipline; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in engineering, testing, quality, regulatory compliance, or a related technical environment.
  • Exposure to product regulatory compliance, product certification, validation testing, or laboratory testing activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, test procedures, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience working with sensors, indicators, control devices, industrial electronics, or electromechanical products.
  • Familiarity with product safety, EMC, environmental, reliability, or performance testing.
  • Exposure to standards and certification programs such as UL, CSA, IEC, FCC, CE, RoHS, REACH, or similar regulatory requirements.

Base Pay Range: $62,146.00 - $85,451.00
