Job Role: Oracle Technical Lead
Location: Remote (Northern California)
Duration: Long-Term Contract / Full-Time (as applicable)
This role supports mission-critical enterprise systems built on Oracle Forms/Reports and Oracle Database technologies. The Oracle Technical Lead is responsible for providing hands-on technical leadership, ensuring system stability, guiding development teams, and delivering secure, well-documented solutions deployed on Unix (Solaris) platforms.
Responsibilities
(Including but not limited to)
• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Oracle Forms/Reports 12c applications and Oracle 12c databases.
• Provide technical leadership through task planning, code reviews, mentoring, and issue resolution.
• Design, develop, and optimize Oracle database objects, complex SQL queries, and PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers.
• Deploy and support Oracle Forms/Reports applications on Unix (Solaris) environments using secure terminal and file transfer tools (PuTTY, FileZilla).
• Troubleshoot application, database, and performance issues using TOAD and other Oracle diagnostic utilities.
• Configure, support, and maintain Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer solutions.
• Develop and maintain Jaspersoft reports to meet business and operational reporting needs.
• Write and maintain SQL scripts and Unix shell scripts to support application functionality and operational processes.
• Author and maintain technical documentation including system design documents, deployment procedures, and run books.
• Manage source code using Apache Subversion (SVN) and enforce version control best practices.
• Support production and non-production environments, including participation in release management and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and operations teams to deliver stable, secure, and scalable technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting Oracle Forms/Reports 12c applications and Oracle 12c databases.
• Expert-level experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including creation and modification of Oracle database objects.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical lead or senior technical role.
• 4+ years of experience authoring technical documentation such as design documents, deployment procedures, and run books.
• 4+ years of experience deploying and supporting Oracle applications on Unix (Solaris) platforms.
• Hands-on experience using terminal and file transfer tools such as PuTTY and FileZilla.
• 4+ years of experience using TOAD for Oracle or equivalent database diagnostic tools.
• 2+ years of experience managing source code with Apache Subversion (SVN).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for database, application, and performance-related issues.
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience configuring and supporting Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer.
• 2+ years of experience developing Jaspersoft reports.
• Experience supporting mission-critical, enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong collaboration skills working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Experience supporting release management and production deployments.
