Job Description

Seeking a hands-on EMV Certification Engineer, Payment Certification Analyst, or Payment Terminal Certification Engineer with deep experience certifying payment terminals with major U.S. payment processors.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Minimum 3+ years of direct EMV certification experience.
• Hands-on certification experience with one or more major payment processors:
• Fiserv
• TSYS
• Chase
• Elavon

Technical Experience

• Deep understanding of EMV transaction flows, EMV tags, Level 1 and Level 2 field-level data elements, and certification requirements.
• Experience executing and troubleshooting processor certification test cases.
• Ability to analyze certification logs and identify root causes of failures.
• Experience working with payment terminals, preferably PAX devices.
• Strong understanding of card-present payment processing, including contact and contactless transactions.
• Experience with PAX terminal software development or QA.
• Experience with Ingenico Axium terminal software development or QA.
• Knowledge of debit networks, contactless terminals, and payment application certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review EMV certification logs and test results.
• Diagnose certification failures at the field/tag level.
• Identify required changes and communicate recommendations to Bank of America and PAX development teams.
• Support end-to-end processor certification activities through successful approval.
• Partner with development, QA, and processor certification teams to resolve issues quickly.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of relevant experience in EMV, payment certification, terminal development, or QA.
• 3+ years of direct EMV certification experience.
• Experience with at least one major payment processor: Fiserv, TSYS, Chase, or Elavon.
• Strong knowledge of EMV transaction flows, tags, Level 1/Level 2 data elements, and certification requirements.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting processor certification test cases and certification failures.
• Experience with PAX terminals is highly preferred.
• Experience with Ingenico Axium terminals is preferred.
• Strong understanding of contact and contactless card-present payment processing.
