Position Summary
The Teamcenter Solution Architect will own the end-to-end PLM solution architecture for the Teamcenter program. This role will translate business and engineering requirements into scalable Teamcenter architecture, establish design standards, govern cross-workstream decisions, and ensure that configuration, customization, integrations, migration, security, and operational design form a coherent enterprise solution.
Key Responsibilities
· Define and maintain the overall Teamcenter solution architecture, including functional, application, integration, data, security, deployment, and operational views.
· Lead architecture decisions for CAD data management, EBOM, product structure, part management, document management, classification, and engineering change
management.
· Establish architectural principles for configuration versus customization and ensure that custom extensions are justified, supportable, and upgrade-conscious.
· Own the Teamcenter domain model and guide BMIDE design for business objects, properties, relations, LOVs, rules, workflows, statuses, and release processes.
· Define Active Workspace architecture, user experience patterns, commands, declarative configuration, search, navigation, and role-based access models.
· Provide architecture direction for Creo, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, visualization, JT generation, and related CAD data-management use cases
· Define integration architecture for SAP, Polarion, migration utilities, identity/access services, reporting, and other engineering ecosystem components.
· Review migration design to ensure correct handling of metadata, revisions, structures, file relationships, lifecycle states, ownership, and traceability.
· Lead architecture reviews, design walkthroughs, technical risk assessments, and decision documentation across delivery teams and suppliers.
· Partner with infrastructure and support leads on sizing, performance, availability, monitoring, disaster recovery, environment strategy, and deployment topology.
· Guide prototyping, proofs of concept, internal demos, and customer demonstrations for complex or high-risk capabilities.
· Mentor technical leads and developers, resolve design disputes, and provide escalation support for critical technical issues.
· Ensure alignment with program scope, validated requirements, security standards, enterprise architecture, and long-term PLM roadmap.
Required Technical and Functional Competencies
· Siemens Teamcenter, preferably recent enterprise releases, and Active Workspace
· BMIDE, Teamcenter data model, preferences, organization, access controls, workflows, queries, and classification
· Teamcenter Integration Toolkit (ITK), SOA/REST services, and enterprise integration patterns
· Teamcenter Dispatcher, visualization/JT concepts, and CAD integration frameworks
· Java, C/C++, XML, XSLT, JSON, SQL, and scripting as applicable to the role
· Source control, code review, CI/CD, release management, and Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling
· Agile/Scrum delivery with strong documentation, traceability, and defect-management discipline
Required Experience and Qualifications
· 12+ years of PLM experience, including substantial hands-on Teamcenter solution architecture experience.
· Demonstrated ownership of at least two large-scale Teamcenter implementations or major transformation programs.
· Deep knowledge of Teamcenter architecture, BMIDE, Active Workspace, security, workflows, product structures, change management, and CAD integrations.
· Strong experience designing enterprise integrations using Teamcenter SOA/REST, ITK, middleware, and asynchronous processing patterns.
· Experience with high-volume data migration, reconciliation, validation, and cutover planning.
· Ability to create architecture diagrams, solution design documents, decision records, interface specifications, and nonfunctional requirements.
· Strong understanding of performance, scalability, availability, security, and upgradeability considerations.
· Bachelor''s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
· Strong written and verbal English communication skills suitable for customer-facing workshops, reviews, demonstrations, and executive status discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in medical devices, regulated manufacturing, or another controlled engineering environment.
· Experience integrating Teamcenter with SAP and requirements or ALM platforms such as Polarion.
· Siemens Teamcenter architecture or implementation certifications.
· Experience leading globally distributed teams and multiple implementation partners.
Leadership and Behavioral Expectations
· Strong customer-facing communication and the ability to explain complex PLM topics in business language
· Collaborative leadership across architects, developers, functional consultants, migration, integration, testing, and support teams
· Ability to operate effectively in a high-visibility global program with multiple stakeholders and changing priorities
· Structured problem solving, ownership, transparency, and timely escalation of risks and dependencies
· Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver clear solution walkthroughs, internal rehearsals, and customer demonstrations
