Summary:

The Quality Initiative Specialist facilitates, coordinates and provides quality advisor support to teams at all levels of the organization.


Responsibilities:
1.\tSupports use of quality improvement (QI) methodology and tools to improve process measures and outcome measures for and with QI teams across the Hospital system

2.\tResponsible for supporting the collection, coordination and analysis of data that measures clinical processes and patient outcomes

3.\tUsing quality improvement methodology, coaches/consults departments and interdisciplinary teams in identifying, prioritizing and implementing improvement strategies that enhances overall Hospital quality efforts

4.\tAssists departments in implementing evidence-based practice

5.\tEducates staff on the Institute for Healthcare Improvement\'s (IHI) Model for Improvement methodology

6.\tServe as Quality Advisors for hospital teams and committees

7.\tMaintains ongoing knowledge of current Quality literature, resources, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory agency standards

8.\tOther duties as required.


Technical Expertise
1.\tExperience in Quality Improvement Methodology

2.\tExperience in data collection and simple analysis

3.\tExperience developing and leading teams

4.\tExperience working with all levels within an organization

5.\tExperience in healthcare is preferred

6.\tProficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required

Education and Experience
1.\tEducation: Bachelor\'s degree is required. Master\'s degree is preferred.

2.\tCertification: Performance Improvement (PI) certification is preferred.

3.\tYears of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.

4.\tYears of experience supervising: None.
