Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Master Data Compliance Specialist to join our client''s SAP Center of Excellence (CoE). This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, governance, and compliance of master data across SAP environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in establishing and enforcing data standards, supporting global business processes, and driving continuous improvement in master data management (MDM) practices across domains such as customer, vendor, material, finance, and asset data. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Parkville, MO. Successful candidates must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. This position is not open to corp-to-corp, subcontractor or independent consulting arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity, quality, governance, and compliance of master data across SAP environments.
- Establish and enforce data standards, supporting global business processes and driving continuous improvement in master data management practices across domains such as customer, vendor, material, finance, and asset data.
- Define, implement, and enforce master data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain high levels of data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across SAP systems.
- Support data ownership frameworks and stewardship models within the CoE.
- Perform data quality assessments, audits, and validations across master data domains.
- Identify data discrepancies and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor ongoing data quality performance.
- Lead root cause analysis for recurring data issues.
- Manage and maintain SAP master data objects, including business partners, material master, finance master data, and asset master data.
- Support data creation, change, and deletion processes in alignment with governance policies.
- Collaborate with functional teams to ensure proper data alignment.
- Drive standardization of master data processes across regions and business units.
- Identify opportunities for automation and workflow optimization.
- Support SAP implementation, migration, and transformation projects (e.g., S/4HANA).
- Maintain global data standards and naming conventions.
- Utilize SAP tools such as MDG, S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, and related solutions.
- Support implementation and optimization of data governance tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with IT on data integrations and system enhancements.
- Provide training and guidance to business users and data stewards on master data processes.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and external partners.
- Promote data governance awareness and best practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- 4–8+ years of experience in SAP Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Compliance roles
- Hands-on experience with SAP master data objects (customer, vendor, material, finance, etc.)
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, controls, and compliance requirements
- Experience working within a SAP CoE or enterprise shared services environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
