PSI Pax, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Windows Engineer to join our team in support of our customer in Dahlgren VA.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • System Architecture and Design: Designing and maintaining Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Exchange, and network infrastructure, often based on system and security requirements.
  • System Administration and Maintenance: Managing Windows server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. This also involves administering DHCP and NPS services, managing devices with MECM, WSUS, and Group Policy, and supporting virtualization platforms like VMware. Hardware maintenance may also be required.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with DoD STIGs and other security standards, implementing security measures, conducting vulnerability assessments, and creating STIG-compliant images. Collaboration with cybersecurity teams and addressing Cyber Tasking Order mitigations are also key.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex performance, security, and technical issues, including those related to Active Directory and authentication. Providing Tier III support and preventing recurring problems are also part of this role.
  • Automation and Scripting: Automating tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell or Bash, developing automation for server builds and patching, and maintaining infrastructure as code for deployment and sustainment.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Creating and maintaining SOPs, technical documentation, installation and configuration procedures, and system diagrams.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Providing support and mentoring, collaborating with other teams and vendors, participating in change and configuration control boards, and potentially serving as a team lead.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, evaluating existing systems, planning long-term strategies, determining system needs, and recommending improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance.

Required Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in engineering applied to Navy/Joint war fighting systems, to include: development of requirements for combat systems, processes used for Software Requirements Specification, System Specification (SS) Section Development, and ability to resolve complex technical problems through the application of appropriate scientific and engineering principles.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in IT Discipline
