Role Overview
We are seeking a Network Engineer to enhance our engineering department. This role is essential for supporting our network infrastructure, contributing to major upgrade projects, and ensuring the stability and performance of our systems. The position involves working with a range of technologies in a dynamic environment, offering an opportunity to influence both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for the help desk to resolve network-related issues.
- Collaborate with field engineers on hardware installations, configurations, and maintenance.
- Participate in major projects, including a Wi-Fi 7 upgrade, migration from Cisco Meraki to Fortinet SD-WAN, and deployment of a new guest Wi-Fi captive portal.
- Assist in the long-term project of migrating the on-premise data center to an Azure environment.
- Work with technologies including Cisco, Ruckus, Arista, and Fortinet.
- Manage network performance using tools such as SolarWinds and handle ticketing through ServiceNow.
- During less busy periods, pivot to project-based work, focusing on network upgrades and architectural planning.
- Travel may be required for large-scale projects, estimated at approximately 10% annually.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of three years of network engineering experience is required.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency with Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Experience with network monitoring tools, specifically SolarWinds.
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi technologies and deployment in a commercial setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BGP.
- Familiarity with Ruckus wired or wireless solutions.
- Experience with ServiceNow for ticketing.
