Title: UX Designer EBM Studio
Location: McLean, VA (5 days - Onsite)
Project Overview
EBM Studio is an in-house enterprise application that enables teams to author and visualize application business models-including workflows, business events, states, and data entities/attributes-and aggregate them into an enterprise view. The platform supports transparency into producer consumer relationships, data lineage, and data journeys, with downstream enablement for implementation artifacts across the broader EBM ecosystem.
As a UX Designer, you will partner closely with product and engineering to design end-to-end experiences across model visualization and editor workflows. The role requires creating scalable, accessible enterprise designs aligned with a component system while enabling rapid iteration from concept through build-ready specifications.
Note: Applications without portfolios will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own UX design for critical EBM Studio surfaces, including model visualizations and lifecycle/editor experiences.
-
Translate complex requirements into user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive Figma prototypes with clear developer annotations.
-
Define and maintain reusable UI patterns aligned with Material Design and the team's design system.
-
Ensure accessibility compliance (keyboard navigation, focus states, contrast, semantic structure, readable density).
-
Collaborate closely with engineering on feasibility and implementation; perform UX QA to ensure design fidelity.
-
Support post-deployment troubleshooting and QA activities.
-
Conduct lightweight research such as usability reviews and rapid feedback iterations.
-
Work within an agile environment using continuous delivery practices.
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Hands-on experience designing complex data flows and data graphing interfaces.
-
Strong expertise in Figma (component-driven design, rapid prototyping, responsive layouts, handoff-ready specs).
-
Knowledge or exposure to LLM/AI concepts.
-
Strong understanding of Material Design components and component-based UI design.
-
Proven experience designing with accessibility best practices.
-
Excellent collaboration with product and engineering teams.
-
Required soft skills: strong organizational skills, confidence, attention to detail, and collaboration.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
-
Financial services industry experience.
-
Experience with data-dense enterprise interfaces (tables, filtering, search, progressive disclosure).
-
Experience visualizing complex data relationships (entity relationships, dependency graphs, lineage/flow maps).
-
Experience designing enterprise-scale applications and power-user workflows.
-
Familiarity with graph-based UI patterns (ERD, topology maps, zoom/pan exploration).
-
Awareness of React implementation considerations in design.
