IT/OT Network & Automation Engineer

No 3rd party vendors.

We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Network & Automation Engineer to support and maintain a manufacturing environment. This role is 100% on-site and is responsible for both Enterprise IT Networking and Industrial OT systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-availability plant operations.

This position plays a critical role in production uptime, network security, and the integration of industrial control systems with corporate IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

IT / Network Responsibilities

1. Configure, deploy, and support Cisco enterprise switches and Access Points
2. Design and maintain:
1. VLANs, trunks, routing
2. Network segmentation for IT/OT environments
3. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot outages
4. Apply cybersecurity best practices in a manufacturing environment

OT / Manufacturing Responsibilities

1. Support Rockwell Automation environments
1. Configure and manage Stratix industrial switches
2. Work with Ethernet/IP, CIP, and industrial protocols
3. Support plant floor networks including:

1. PLCs
2. HMIs
3. Industrial devices
4. QoS, ACLs, and basic firewall rules

1. Understand and maintain cell/area zone architecture
2. Coordinate with controls engineers and external integrators
3. Troubleshoot network or system issues impacting production

General Responsibilities

1. Act as the on-site technical escalation point for plant IT/OT issues
2. Maintain documentation of network and automation configurations
3. Participate in system upgrades, expansions, and plant projects
4. Ensure changes do not disrupt production operations
5. Collaborate with corporate IT and plant leadership

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

1. Proven experience configuring Cisco switches and Access Points
1. Must be Cisco CCNA certified (or higher)
2. Experience supporting Rockwell Automation environments

1. Hands-on experience with Stratix switches

1. Strong understanding of IT/OT network segmentation
2. Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
3. Ability to work independently on-site
4. Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

1. Experience with:
1. Studio 5000
2. Industrial cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443)
3. Plant network architecture design
2. Prior work in a 24/7 or production-critical environment
3. Experience working with external system integrators

Work Schedule & Location

1. On-site only
2. 40 hours per week
3. Occasional off-hours support may be required for planned maintenance or critical incidents
