Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and technically curious Task Leader (TL) to support a mission-critical Federal Government IT program. This role is ideal for someone who can operate at the intersection of project coordination, Agile execution, JIRA project coordination, reporting, ticket hygiene, and workflow visibility, quality assurance, testing support, and stakeholder communication.
The TL will support the Federal Gov''t Project Manager (PM) by helping organize day-to-day technical work, facilitate scrum ceremonies, maintain visibility into JIRA activity, coordinate with Change Control and Requirements leads, and ensure development work is properly tracked, prioritized, tested, and documented. Additionally, TL will support the contract PM, ensuring contract requirements are met.
This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment made up of federal employees and contractors. The successful candidate will be comfortable learning the technical and development background of the assigned program, understanding database-related challenges, and helping technical teams stay organized, accountable, and aligned.
Key Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and recurring program governance meetings, including daily standups, JIRA reviews, internal Change Control Board meetings, and external stakeholder coordination sessions.
- Become familiar with the technical, development, and database environment of the assigned program.

- Learn and understand key Oracle database challenges impacting development, testing, reporting, and release planning.
- Help facilitate, track, and prioritize top projects and active workstreams.
- Review and become familiar with existing JIRA projects, workflows, ticket structures, boards, dashboards, and reporting conventions.
- Review JIRA tickets for completeness, including tickets missing hours, estimates, assignments, status updates, acceptance criteria, or supporting documentation.
- Establish routine JIRA reporting for developers, project leadership, and stakeholders.
- Work with Change Control Board Lead and Requirements Lead to ensure JIRA tickets are complete, well-defined, properly categorized, and ready for development or testing.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining a stakeholder matrix to support communication, accountability, and escalation paths.
- Support quality assurance and quality control activities, including developing or implementing QC methodologies, standards, checklists, and repeatable review processes.
- Document development standards, best practices, team procedures, and operating norms.
- Assist with testing and validation activities, including routine pre-release testing, post-release validation, regression testing, and release-readiness support.
- Support compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Help establish / maintain a process, evaluating task performance and rel. documentation.
- Conduct or participate in formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development lifecycle.
- Thrive in a fast-paced Federal Government Agency environment with evolving requirements and multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
The strongest candidates will have:
- Experience supporting Federal Government IT / mission-critical public sector programs.
- Experience working in a mixed environment of federal employees, prime contractors, subcontractors, developers, analysts, testers, and program leadership.
- Familiarity with Oracle databases, database-driven applications, or enterprise systems involving complex data structures.
- Prior experience participating in or supporting Change Control Boards.
- Experience improving JIRA hygiene, ticket quality, backlog organization, sprint planning, or release-readiness processes.
- Ability to understand technical issues well enough to facilitate communication between business stakeholders and developers.
- Experience documenting standards, best practices, operating procedures, QA/QC processes, or development lifecycle controls.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in a Federal Government environment.
- U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in IT project coordination, task leadership, Agile delivery, QA/QC, testing coordination, requirements support, or federal IT program support.
- Experience supporting planning, integration, and implementation of complex systems, preferably related to business operations or federal mission systems.
- At least 1 year in a lead, task lead, project lead, scrum lead, or similar coordination role preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
