Summary:A very strong technology and IT delivery manager and leader with hands-on experience and expertise in tech modernization, and cloud native applications. Manages the Information Technology (IT) needs of assigned Business Segment(s) through staff and/or subordinate managers and supervisors. Integral in the development of strategy, planning, funding, and delivery of technology products and services to the Business Segment(s) and delivery partners. Drives Technology modernization and cloud migration.
Role Overview- The Sr IT Service Delivery Manager will serve as the accountable delivery and platform leader for the colleague servicing application.
- This role combines platform strategy, delivery execution, engineering leadership, and risk ownership and requires close collaboration across application teams, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, risk/compliance, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities- Platform Strategy, Vision & Roadmap: Define, communicate, govern, and implement technology modernization (monolithic to microservices and component based) and cloud migration, end of life roadmap for current dependencies on vendor tools (IBM WebSphere) aligned with enterprise architecture, business strategy, and regulatory requirements.
- Delivery and Execution Leadership: provide end-to-end accountability for delivery and dependency management, ensuring predictable outcomes and risk management.
- Stakeholder management: Communicate plans, risks, and outcomes to business, technology partners, and risk/compliance stakeholders.
- Reliability & SRE: Partner with Digital SRE team to establish SLOs/SLAs, observability standards, resiliency, disaster recovery, and incident management best practices.
- Security, risk & compliance: Partner with cyber team on security first coding and data protection best practices, Lead production readiness reviews, risk assessments, vulnerabilities and audit responses.
- Financial transparency: Responsible for financial transparency across IT (including initiatives and base operations) for the Business Segment(s).
- Audit Controls and Regulatory Readiness: Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams and support audits and regulatory exams.
- People leadership: Build, lead, and inspire a high performing, multi-disciplinary engineering organization; attract, grow, and retain talent; and foster a culture of accountability, engineering excellence, and operational rigor. Directly manage onsite teams and provide oversight for an offshore team, supporting delivery and commitments.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives using data-driven insights; implement automation, reduce manual effort.
- Application Resiliency, Reliability, Monitoring and Production Support:
- Partner with Chief Development Office and the Digital SRE team to define and implement enterprise observability standards leveraging tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace to ensure proactive issue detection and performance optimization.
- Partner with the Digital SRE team to timely resolve major incident management calls; drive root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Capacity & Performance Management: Establish system capacity planning processes to ensure systems scale efficiently with business demand; proactively address performance bottlenecks.
- Environment & Release Management: Oversee environment strategy (QA, UAT, TRN, PROD) and ensure controlled, compliant, and high-quality release processes with minimal production impact.
- Dependency & Integration Management: Manage complex dependencies across enterprise systems, APIs, and third-party integrations, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive alignment across architecture, infrastructure, security, and product teams to ensure cohesive delivery of execution.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of strong technical experience, including 3+ years leading software engineering teams that operate mission-critical services at scale.
- Hands-on experience with React, Java, SpringBoot, Microservices, Cloud (Google Cloud Platform/AWS/Azure).
Preferred Qualifications:- Preferred hands-on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
- Proven expertise and experience in tech modernization, building modular, highly scalable microservices, and integration with internal and external systems.
- Strong grounding in SRE/DevOps practices and a security-first mindset.
