Junior Datastage / ETL / DWH / Data Tester

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Datastage / ETL / DWH / Data Tester to join our data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating endtoend data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across enterprise data warehouses and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute ETL and Data Warehouse test strategies for complex data integration projects
• Validate IBM Datastage ETL jobs, including source-to-target data mapping, transformations, aggregations, and business rules
• Perform data quality, data reconciliation, and data integrity testing across source systems, staging, and target DWH layers
• Create and execute SQL queries to validate large data volumes across relational databases
• Validate data loaded into Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and downstream BI/reporting systems
• Perform system, integration, regression, and UAT support testing for data-driven applications
• Analyze data discrepancies, identify root causes, and work closely with ETL developers, data engineers, and business analysts to resolve issues
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and defect reports
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide testing estimates and risk assessments
• Ensure adherence to data governance, control, and compliance standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in ETL / DWH / Data Testing
• Hands-on experience with IBM Datastage
• Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, Snowflake, etc.)
• Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts (facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schemas)
• Experience with source-to-target mapping validation
• Knowledge of data validation techniques (reconciliation, balancing, duplicate checks, null checks)
• Familiarity with batch processing, data loads, and scheduling
• Experience working in Agile or Waterfall environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects, etc.)
• Exposure to big data or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
• Knowledge of automation tools used in data testing
• Experience in banking, financial services, healthcare, or retail domains
