Technology Procurement Specialist/IT Contracts & Procurement Specialist (IT Supply Chain Specialist)

The IT Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of IT hardware, software, and services through enterprise procurement platforms. This role supports category management initiatives, negotiates contracts, and ensures all technology purchases align with business needs, compliance standards, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Process Management

• Manage end-to-end IT procurement activities including requisitions, sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing
• Execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and category management practices
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval workflows, and audit requirements

Category Management & Strategic Sourcing

• Support category initiatives including market analysis, supplier consolidation, and strategic sourcing
• Conduct spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and reduce risk
• Maintain category strategies to optimize value and supplier performance

Vendor & Contract Management

• Manage RFI/RFP processes and evaluate vendor proposals
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements
• Draft, review, and manage contracts for software, hardware, and IT services
• Support vendor onboarding and contract renewals while ensuring compliance

Budget & Cost Control

• Partner with finance to manage budgets and understand CapEx vs. OpEx impacts
• Monitor procurement spend and identify cost optimization opportunities
• Ensure purchases align with approved budgets and controls

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with IT, legal, finance, and business teams to meet procurement needs
• Provide status updates and support cross-functional initiatives
• Maintain KPIs and ensure seamless procurement operations

Market Research & Reporting

• Research market trends, pricing, and emerging technology solutions
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting
• Support audit readiness and compliance through proper recordkeeping

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, or related field
• 3+ years of IT procurement experience with exposure to category management
• Experience using enterprise procurement tools (e.g., SAP/SRM, Source-to-Pay platforms)
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven contract negotiation and cost savings achievements
• Procurement certifications (CPSM, CPPM, or similar)
• Experience supporting software and technology sourcing initiatives
