Summary

We are seeking the very best technical talent - exceptional individuals who have distinguished themselves among the highest achievers in their academic programs or, through their professional careers, have demonstrated extraordinary intellectual capacity, technical excellence, and accomplishment.

About the Role:

StaffRight Associates is recruiting to identify exceptional technical leaders for a world-class computational research organization advancing drug discovery, biomolecular simulation, biophysics, and machine learning.

We are seeking an outstanding Technical Program/Product Manager — Machine Learning to work directly with leading ML researchers, engineers, research leads, and senior management to drive some of the organization's most technically ambitious initiatives.

This is not a conventional project-management role. You will operate at the intersection of machine learning, computational science, scientific data, infrastructure, and strategic execution, helping transform sophisticated research objectives into coordinated, measurable outcomes.

Current initiatives include generative models for drug discovery, molecular property prediction, molecular simulation, 3D structure prediction, LLMs for molecular science, and the acquisition and management of scientific datasets.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Technical Programs: Coordinate complex ML initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment among researchers, engineers, leadership, and external partners.
  • Bridge Research & Execution: Translate sophisticated technical objectives into actionable programs, milestones, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Enable ML Research: Support projects involving generative AI, LLMs, molecular modeling, drug discovery, simulation, and scientific machine learning.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with research leads, ML scientists, engineers, infrastructure teams, vendors, and senior management.
  • Manage External Relationships: Coordinate vendors, third parties, strategic partners, and other external resources critical to research programs.
  • Own Scientific Data Initiatives: Help identify, evaluate, acquire, and manage datasets supporting cutting-edge ML research.
  • Anticipate & Mitigate Risk: Identify technical, operational, resource, and execution risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Shape Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to high-visibility infrastructure and organizational initiatives that directly influence DESRES's research capabilities.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Biology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating complex technical programs, products, or interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and modern computational technologies.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership, judgment, organizational ability, and ownership.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment where problems are highly technical, intellectually demanding, and often novel.
  • Experience working with ML researchers, software engineers, scientific teams, or other highly technical organizations is strongly valued.
  • A record of meaningful professional achievement and the intellectual curiosity to engage deeply with advanced technical work.

Why This Opportunity:

The company is not simply applying existing technology to conventional problems. Its teams develop advanced computational technologies to investigate biologically and pharmaceutically significant molecules at an extraordinary level of detail.

For the right individual, this is an opportunity to help orchestrate research at the intersection of machine learning, high-performance computing, molecular science, and drug discovery, while working alongside some of the world's strongest technical researchers.

The successful candidate will have meaningful visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence programs with potentially transformative scientific and commercial impact.

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected annual base salary is $200,000–$600,000, depending on experience, education, and other relevant factors.

The total compensation package also includes:

  • Sign-on bonus
  • Year-end bonus
  • Generous benefits
  • Relocation assistance
