About the TeamThe Sr. Systems Sales Engineer role will be part of the Systems Engineering & Solution Sales organization at Nutanix, which comprises over 800 dedicated technical sales professionals. This team is based primarily in San Jose, California, and is focused on creating and delivering innovative solutions that address customers' business challenges. The culture promotes collaboration and an eagerness to engage with customers, positioning team members as trusted advisors in their transformational journey. The mission of the team is to identify and match technology opportunities with customer objectives while providing exceptional service and expert consultation.
You will report to the Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering, who is known for fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging team members to grow and learn while pushing for excellence. The role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility, with an expectation of occasional office presence depending on project needs and team engagements, ensuring connectivity with colleagues and fostering team culture.
This position requires approximately 30% travel, allowing the Sr. Systems Sales Engineer to engage directly with customers and prospects, conducting product demonstrations and technical evaluations that are critical for fostering strong relationships and closing sales deals effectively.
Your Role - Demonstrate and articulate the features and benefits of Nutanix solutions to customers.
- Size, configure, and recommend Nutanix solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, acting as their trusted advisor.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop account plans and create proposals aligned with Nutanix offerings.
- Guide prospects through technical evaluations (POCs) to ensure successful deal closures.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to new hires and fellow colleagues.
- Communicate customer feedback effectively to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Achieve targeted contributions to revenue through complex account management and larger sales transactions.
What You Will Bring - 5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, including 3+ years as a Presales Engineer.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical aptitude with a focus on data center and cloud technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Adept problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and execute detailed action plans.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to personal and professional integrity.
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to new hires and peers.
Work ArrangementRemote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 196,000 and USD $ 29,400 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
