Job Details
Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead and optimize revenue cycle operations for a growing healthcare organization specializing in autism and behavioral health services.
This individual will oversee the full revenue cycle, including billing, claims management, accounts receivable, collections, payer relations, authorizations, and credentialing. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and a demonstrated history of improving financial performance.
Unlike traditional enterprise-level RCM leadership positions, this opportunity requires a leader who is equally comfortable developing strategy and executing the day-to-day work.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end revenue cycle operations, including claims submission, payment posting, denial management, collections, and accounts receivable.
Identify and resolve revenue leakage, reimbursement delays, billing discrepancies, and operational inefficiencies.
Develop and implement strategies to improve clean claim rates, collection performance, and overall revenue realization.
Manage Medicaid and commercial insurance billing requirements, payer relationships, and reimbursement processes.
Oversee authorization, benefits verification, and provider credentialing workflows.
Lead revenue cycle process improvements, workflow automation, and technology optimization initiatives.
Support the development and management of internal billing operations and associated vendor relationships.
Establish performance dashboards, financial reporting, and revenue cycle KPIs.
Partner with clinical, operational, and executive leadership to ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and financial sustainability.
Provide hands-on support with complex claims, denials, payer escalations, and revenue recovery initiatives.
Qualifications
Significant experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, medical billing, or reimbursement operations.
Prior leadership experience in revenue cycle, billing, or healthcare financial operations.
Strong knowledge of Medicaid, commercial insurance, claims processing, denials, authorizations, and collections.
Experience within ABA, autism services, behavioral health, or a similarly complex healthcare reimbursement environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to improve revenue cycle performance through measurable operational and financial results.
Experience managing billing teams, external vendors, and cross-functional operational initiatives.
Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to interpret financial reports, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions.
Comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment with significant individual accountability.
Exceptional integrity, communication skills, organizational discipline, and commitment to consistent execution.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a highly accountable revenue cycle leader who takes ownership of outcomes, understands the operational complexities of healthcare reimbursement, and can independently diagnose and resolve problems.
We are particularly interested in professionals who have successfully improved collections, reduced denials, strengthened billing operations, or helped organizations transition toward more efficient internal revenue cycle models.
