Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development, microservices, web technologies, and data platforms, and a proven ability to lead feature delivery, uphold engineering standards, and mentor team members while ensuring secure, compliant, and high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and own feature delivery with a focus on quality.
- Adhere to enterprise standards for solution design, coding, and quality assurance.
- Deliver solutions that meet product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
- Ensure compliance and security requirements, including audit support at the team level.
- Act as a liaison for production activities and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a clear product backlog and acceptance criteria.
- Guide work breakdown and efficient task execution to meet delivery timelines.
- Serve as a team lead (individual contributor) and mentor teammates to improve skills and practices.
- Provide expertise in planning, estimation, peer reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Identify skill and role gaps and partner with the Technology Manager to address them.
- Support the Technology Manager in developing resource contingency plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years in Java development: Core Java, J2EE, Spring 5, Hibernate, Spring MVC/Batch.
- Version control with GIT/Bitbucket or Subversion.
- Experience with WebLogic Server, performance tuning, ETL, and Windows/Linux environments.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL across Oracle and SQL Server.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Frontend proficiency with JavaScript, CSS, and frameworks such as React, Angular 17+, and Node.js.
- Reporting with MicroStrategy and Tableau.
- CI/CD with Ansible, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
- Agile delivery experience and participation in ceremonies.
- Test automation using Selenium and Cucumber.
- Containerization and orchestration knowledge, including Kubernetes.
- Web services with AWS, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with Oracle Exadata and MS SQL Server platforms.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
- Understanding and hands-on experience with microservices architecture.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in enterprise-scale systems within financial services or regulated environments.
- Exposure to GraphQL schema design and API gateway patterns.
