Gibbs & Cox, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leidos is seeking a well-qualified individual for the Division's Systems Engineering Assistant Department Manager (SE ADM).
Location: This position allows for remote work. However the ideal candidate would be available in person monthly to a Leidos Gibbs & Cox office or other locations designated by the customer to attend meetings as needed. Customer is primarily located in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineering Assistant Department Manager is responsible for assisting the Department Manager with technical and personnel management needs of the Systems Engineering Department with engineers in multiple locations. In this role you will be supporting transition of resources from the Navy's DDG(X) Surface Combatant program to the newly named BBG(X) Battleship Program to ensure orderly transition of Systems Engineering personnel and work products while maintaining continuity and controlling scope. The SE ADM reports to the Systems Engineering Department Manager and performs on the program as the Requirements Manager. You will provide support to our Navy customer with innovative approaches to requirements development from classical Document Based Systems Engineering methods, Model Based Systems Engineering methods, and where necessary hybrid approaches, which includes training and mentoring junior systems engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
The Systems Engineering Assistant Department Manager must be able to assist the Department Manager in maintaining staffing, resourcing, and program management needs in addition to leading requirements management on complex programs. The best qualified person must have demonstrated success in leading a matrixed team of engineers in an integrated product team environment that employs both set-based and point-based design efforts. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring staff create accurate products on time and within budget and must have the ability to produce manhour and Basis of Estimates for future work.
- BS Degree in Systems Engineering (or Related Discipline) or equivalent experience
- 5 (+) Years experience implementing DOORS, DOORS NextGen and Cameo in an Authoritative Source of Truth digital environment
- Experience creating SysML models in Cameo.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Work independently (with moderate supervision), or on project teams.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- An Active Secret Clearance is Required.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with US Navy ship systems.
- Experience working in large team environments & interfacing with highly technical points of contact for component systems / subsystems
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and project unknowns/ambiguity

Pay Range:Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
