JOB DESCRIPTION: Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Senior Data Engineer, Manufacturing, North America based out of our facility at 2740 Dallas Parkway, Suite 100, Plano, TX 75093. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned facility. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of this facility. The Senior Data Engineer, Manufacturing, North America will implement and continuously improve data collection and analytical tools and processes within the cement manufacturing organization in North America to aid in driving manufacturing excellence and performance. The individual will ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy through governance of data processing and architecture (e.g. calculations, data alignment); manage and optimize data sourcing and data references; coach, train, and establish standards for various points of manufacturing data generation and transfer, working closely with cement manufacturing operations. The individual will collaborate with manufacturing performance teams to promote analytics as a business tool to achieve manufacturing excellence. S/he will identify opportunities for improvement by collecting, compiling, and analyzing relevant industrial information to create transparency and highlight key drivers for manufacturing performance. Responsibilities will include:
  • DataSphere management (Business Warehouse)
  • Configure TIS reports and links with other reports
  • Ensure all data systems have reliable and accurate information
  • Acquire, compile, and monitor industrial performance data (monthly, quarterly, annually) and ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Consolidate results and prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports to senior management and to North American manufacturing support functions
  • Analyze and interpret data results
  • Supported by experts from Operating expertise, develop models for target setting (Capex to maintain, maintenance, energy consumption cost, fixed cost, etc.)
  • Standardize the use of cost and performance indicators
  • Implement and maintain communities of practice, collaboration tools and knowledge platforms;
  • Identify and contribute to the development of industrial controllers and production analysts in NA region

This position does not entail travel.

REQUIREMENTS: The position of Senior Data Engineer, Manufacturing, North America requires a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related engineering/business field. The position also requires 5 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered, as Data Engineer, Industrial Controller, Operations Planner/Manager, or related Data Engineering/Manufacturing position. Further, the position requires 5 years of professional experience with each of the following:
1) Managing data integration within the cement manufacturing environment;
2) Data modeling (Kimball, facts and dimensions), Data governance, TIS, Data Mining; SQL;
3) Visualization tools, including Qlikview, Business Objects, Data Studio, and Axiom; and
4) Achieving KPIs within the cement manufacturing environment.
