Job Description
A growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Brick Township, NJ is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the team. This is a jack-of-all-trades role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across a broad technology stack and thrives in a dynamic, client-facing environment. You'll support a variety of small to mid-sized businesses with diverse IT environments, providing both proactive support and reactive troubleshooting.

This role will focus primarily on server support, Microsoft 365 administration, basic networking, and cloud technologies including Teams, Exchange Online, and Intune. You will be the go-to resource for resolving issues, implementing solutions, and delivering excellent technical service across multiple client environments.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer or similar IT role, preferably within an MSP
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, and security policies
  • Strong understanding of basic networking concepts including VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and DNS/DHCP
  • Experience with system monitoring, patching, and endpoint management
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to handle multiple client issues with minimal supervision
  • Customer service mindset with strong communication skills in both technical and non-technical contexts
  • Strong documentation habits and familiarity with ticketing systems / PSA tools

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Azure AD synchronization
  • Experience configuring remote access (VPN, RDP, etc.)
  • Exposure to backup and disaster recovery solutions (Datto, Veeam, etc.)
  • Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell preferred)
  • Knowledge of security best practices and endpoint protection platforms

What You Will Be Doing
  • Providing remote and onsite support for clients' servers, systems, and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Managing and supporting Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, Teams, and Intune device policies
  • Performing basic network configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
  • Supporting and maintaining Windows Server infrastructure and domain services
  • Documenting systems, procedures, and configurations clearly and consistently
  • Responding to help desk tickets, diagnosing issues, and resolving them efficiently
  • Collaborating with internal engineers on escalated issues and project rollouts
  • Participating in client onboarding, assessments, and improvement plans
