Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect 3 to support enterprise Data Warehouse architecture, Teradata environments, ETL processes, batch scheduling, data security, data quality, and production support.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Teradata experience, strong Data Warehouse and ETL expertise, Linux experience, and excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with developers, technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Support complex Data Warehouse batch frameworks and scheduling processes.
• Ensure reliable and timely availability of data for critical business processes and reporting.
• Manage Data Warehouse change management, including code and DDL promotions.
• Perform build and release engineering activities for manual and automated promotion processes.
• Manage Linux security structures on Data Warehouse ETL servers, including groups, permissions, user access, and sudo authorization.
• Manage Teradata security, user access, roles, and permissions.
• Conduct data architecture reviews and technical audits.
• Ensure Data Warehouse solutions align with enterprise architecture and security standards.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex Data Warehouse issues.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization and scalability.
• Support ETL workflows and data integration processes across multiple source systems.
• Perform data profiling, validation, cleansing, and standardization.
• Establish and maintain data quality rules and processes.
• Support system upgrades, patch management, maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture, processes, workflows, and solutions.
• Lead efforts to migrate existing Data Warehouse processes to standardized/common frameworks.
• Conduct elevated-access reviews and user audits.
• Identify and remediate security and audit findings.
• Provide technical guidance and training to development teams for batch processing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers as required.
• Support disaster recovery and backup strategies for critical data systems.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of Teradata experience.
• Strong experience with enterprise Data Warehouse environments.
• Hands-on experience with ETL and data integration.
• Experience with batch processing and scheduling frameworks.
• Experience with Teradata security and access management.
• 2+ years of Linux experience preferred.
• Strong SQL and DDL experience.
• Experience with production Data Warehouse support and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of data quality, profiling, cleansing, and standardization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative technical team.
• Strong English communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous government or public-sector experience.
• Experience supporting State-level Data Warehouse environments.
• Previous State of Michigan experience.
• Experience with healthcare or human services data.
• Experience with cloud-based BI tools.
• Experience with security audits and compliance requirements.
• Experience with disaster recovery and backup solutions.
• Experience providing technical training and guidance to development teams.

Work Location & Schedule

Lansing, MI

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work every Wednesday and Thursday.

Candidates should be local to the Lansing area or willing to relocate at their own expense from the beginning of the assignment.

The ideal candidate is a Senior Teradata/Data Warehouse professional who can combine architecture, ETL, batch processing, security, Linux, production support, and troubleshooting expertise while communicating effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
