Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support critical missions. This role involves building and extending a greenfield data and AI platform for federal background investigation work. You will work with the platform's lead engineer to develop and maintain pipelines, transformations, and data products in a high-trust environment where data handling standards are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline code.
- Extend the platform following established architecture, patterns, and standards.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor data quality, pipeline reliability, and performance, resolving issues as they arise.
- Apply data governance, cataloging, and access-control practices.
- Support the data science and ML team by delivering governed datasets and tooling.
- Operate within established data handling constraints in day-to-day engineering.
- Collaborate with the engineering team and maintain clear documentation of processes.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a relevant field is required.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience building and maintaining production data pipelines.
Technical Skills:- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on ETL/data pipeline development and analytical data modeling.
- Working familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or Google Cloud Platform acceptable).
- Experience with version control and CI/CD workflows.
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Databricks experience or a comparable lakehouse stack (Spark, Delta, dbt, Snowflake).
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CI/CD for data workloads.
- Experience in regulated or accredited environments.
- Government or defense contracting experience.
- Familiarity with data governance or cataloging tooling and orchestration tools.
Soft Skills

- Clear documentation and knowledge-sharing habits.
