Position Overview
Client is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join the Strategic Work Assignment Taskforce (SWAT Team). This role will support multiple Deskside Support Services (DSS) teams across the Denver Metro area by assisting with hardware deployments, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, onboarding/offboarding support, and enterprise IT operations.
This is a hands-on field support position requiring travel between multiple agency locations throughout the Denver Metro area. Candidates must be local to Colorado and possess reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Device Imaging & Deployment
- Prepare and configure laptops, desktops, printers, phones, and other end-user devices using OIT standard imaging methods
- Install software, drivers, patches, and updates prior to deployment
- Perform workstation setup and deployment activities for end users
Technical Support & Ticket Resolution
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 deskside support for hardware and software issues
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, docking stations, monitors, headsets, and peripherals
- Resolve incidents and service requests within SLA timelines using ServiceNow
- Maintain detailed and accurate ticket documentation and status updates
Asset & Lifecycle Management
- Track and maintain accurate inventory records within asset management systems
- Support device lifecycle management activities including refreshes and replacements
- Handle device surplus processes including hard drive removal, cataloging, and transport for destruction
Operational & Project Support
- Support office relocations and workstation moves
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities for end users
- Participate in vulnerability remediation initiatives
- Collaborate with multiple DSS teams and provide support across various state agencies
- Attend project meetings, team syncs, and operational status discussions
Required Qualifications
- Experience providing desktop support in enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop imaging processes
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with desktops, laptops, printers, docking stations, and peripherals
- Experience with hardware deployment, device setup, and asset management
- Ability to work independently across multiple locations and teams
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must be able to travel throughout the Denver Metro area
- Must be local to Colorado
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government or public sector environments
- Familiarity with enterprise device lifecycle management
- Knowledge of vulnerability remediation processes
- Experience supporting large-scale deployment or migration projects
