We are seeking a
senior-level Pre-Sales Engineer with strong experience in
physical security systems and network infrastructure to support client engagements and proposal development from our Torrance, CA office.
This role serves as the technical bridge between sales, engineering, and customers. You will work directly with clients to understand their business and technical needs, design scalable physical security solutions, and clearly document requirements to support accurate estimating, BOM development, and proposal creation.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, confident in front of clients, and able to clearly explain complex concepts through both conversation and written documentation.
What you'll do:- Act as the primary technical liaison between sales, clients, and engineering/estimation teams
- Lead and participate in client discovery sessions, site walks, and technical discussions
- Translate customer requirements into high-level physical security and network solution designs
- Support sales through technical presentations and solution positioning
- Review and respond to RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, and design documents
- Produce detailed technical documentation, including:
- Solution narratives
- Scopes of work
- Assumptions and clarifications
- Design intent documents
- Partner with estimators and engineers to ensure requirements are accurately reflected in BOMs and proposals
- Work with manufacturers and vendors to validate solution design and pricing
- Support conceptual drawings and system layouts using tools such as Bluebeam or IPVM
- Participate in proposal reviews, solution reviews, and project handoff meetings
- Provide technical guidance during project kickoff and support execution teams as needed
Required experience:- 8+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solution engineering, estimation, or system design
- Strong background in video surveillance, access control, and supporting network infrastructure
- Solid understanding of:
- Network switching, routing, and wireless connectivity
- Server-based and cloud infrastructure
- Physical layer infrastructure (fiber, copper, pathways)
- Proven ability to engage directly with clients and lead technical discussions
- Strong technical writing skills with experience producing clear scopes and requirements
- Ability to read and interpret RFPs, construction drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred experience and skills:- Experience with physical security platforms such as Verkada, Brivo, Axis, Avigilon, Hanwha, Hirsch, or Milestone
- Familiarity with Cisco and Aruba networking platforms
- Experience designing integrated security and network solutions
- Exposure to wireless backhaul and remote connectivity solutions
- background with server-based video management systems (VMS)
- Prior field, installation, or project delivery experience
- Knowledge of structured cabling systems and infrastructure design
Preferred certifications (not required):- RCDD
- CCNA, Aruba, or similar networking certifications
- Manufacturer certifications in security or networking technologies

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
