SAP Manufacturing & Quality Lead (PP/QM) with PPDS
Overview
The SAP Manufacturing & Quality Lead (PP/QM) with PPDS will be responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing and quality management processes within the SAP S/4HANA transformation program.
This role blends deep functional knowledge in Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) with leadership capabilities to manage workstreams, coordinate across business and IT teams, and ensure alignment between plant operations, quality assurance, and digital transformation goals. The consultant will serve as the Workstream Lead, ensuring successful design, implementation, and stabilization of manufacturing and quality solutions across global sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Manufacturing Execution
Lead solution design and rollout for SAP PP modules including Discrete and Repetitive Manufacturing.
Manage production planning processes Master Data (BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions), MRP, Shop Floor Control, Capacity Planning, and PPDS.
Coordinate with business teams to define production execution strategies aligned with S/4HANA simplifications.
Ensure integration with upstream and downstream business functions (Purchasing, Order Management, FI/CO, EWM).
Support planning-to-production workflows, order execution, and manufacturing performance reporting.
Quality Management (QM)
Lead end-to-end Quality Management processes inspection planning, results recording, defect management, usage decision, and quality notifications.
Integrate QM with production, procurement, and warehouse processes to ensure in-process and post-production quality controls.
Define and implement quality master data (Inspection Plans, Characteristics, Sampling Procedures).
Ensure compliance with industry standards and audit readiness for manufacturing quality processes.
S/4 HANA Migration & Project Leadership
Support ECC to S/4HANA migration perform fit-gap analysis, testing, data migration validation, cutover, and post-go-live support.Provide end-user training, documentation, and ongoing support for S/4HANA
Purchasing and manufacturing applications:
Apply SAP Activate Methodology for workshops, design iterations, and sprint-based delivery.
Coordinate with functional, technical, and data readiness teams to align manufacturing and quality workstreams.
Drive risk management, change control, and documentation activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:
Lead workshops and governance sessions with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain stakeholders.
Provide project status updates, risk assessments, and issue logs to program management.
Develop and deliver training materials and user enablement sessions for business readiness.
Required Skills & Competencies
SAP Functional Expertise
10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP PP and QM modules.
At least 2 full lifecycle implementations or S/4HANA migration projects.
Deep understanding of Production Orders, Process Orders, MRP, Work Centers, Routing, Inspection Processes, and PPDS.
Strong integration knowledge with Purchasing, Order Management, FI/CO, and EWM.
Experience configuring and supporting S/4HANA Simplifications for PP/QM processes.
Project Management Skills
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive deliverables to completion.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
Experience with Agile and SAP Activate methodologies preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience in Automotive, or Discrete Manufacturing industries.
Exposure to Shop Floor Integration (MES) or Manufacturing Execution Systems.
