General Information
Senior Hyper-V Engineer for RCG’s VMware-to-Hyper-V migration project. The engineer designs, implements, and manages complex Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization environments, focusing on high availability, performance tuning, and automation. This role typically requires 5+ years of experience with Failover Clustering, SCVMM, Windows Admin Center, PowerShell scripting, and enterprise networking/storage, ensuring stable and secure infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support alignment and development of strategies and architecture forclient''s VMware to Hyper-V migration project.
Execute highly scalable Hyper-V clusters, including Failover Clustering during migration project.
Implement SCVMM, WAC, and configure virtual networking (VM switches, VLANs, QoS).
Develop PowerShell scripts to automate infrastructure deployment, operational workflows, and health monitoring.
Optimize Hyper-V host performance and resolve complex, tier-3 hypervisor-level issues during migrations.
Implement and maintain Hyper-V replicas and disaster recovery strategies.
Recommend process, organizational, and system changes to support key project objectives
Interpret, refine, and apply methods and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Information Technology industry standards and best practices as defined by client
Remain current with industry trends to conceive, prototype and recommend technical approaches for IT systems and solutions that meet business needs.
Work with Active Directory and Cyber teams to integrate Hyper-V cluster nodes as per modern cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Expert level knowledge of Hyper-V and VMWare virtualization technology (5+ years of experience).
5+ years of experience managing a Windows Server environment.
3+ years working with Cisco UCS server platform.
Wide-ranging expert knowledge of Active Directory managing global AD environments (Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, NPS, etc).
Experience with automation tools simplifying deployments of Hyper-V clusters.
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell.

Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc).
Hybrid Deployments – Ex: Azure Arc managing Windows Server environments.
GitHub distributed version control.
Linux distribution systems.
Experience with Pure Storage and Veeam technologies.
Enterprise system monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, SolarWinds.
Hybrid cloud computing (Azure/AWS). Windows Server Hybrid Certification a plus.
Managing server technology in hospitality industry.
Physical Demands:
Light to medium duty equipment lifting and carrying.
Standing for extended periods of time during deployments.
Dulling/pushing light duty equipment.
Driving between sites.
Working at a ship construction site (Dry Docks).
