Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Fayetteville, NC. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys supporting users, maintaining reliable systems, and solving technical challenges in a manufacturing environment.

The IT Support Technician will support desktop, infrastructure, cloud, application, network, voice, and plant-floor systems while partnering with business, engineering, and production teams. This is a strong opportunity for someone who values teamwork, service excellence, technical variety, and the chance to contribute to stable, secure, and efficient operations.

This position offers a collaborative environment with supportive leadership, cross-functional visibility, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on end-user productivity and manufacturing system uptime.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide first-line IT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, software, and user access needs.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, server, application, and network issues while escalating complex matters as needed.
- Support enterprise applications, cloud services, Microsoft 365, Windows systems, patching, backups, software rollouts, and security compliance.
- Maintain and support wired, wireless, VoIP, Active Directory, antivirus, threat protection, and IT asset management processes.
- Provide specialized IT support for manufacturing systems such as MES, SCADA, LIMS, and related plant-floor applications.
- Partner with vendors, engineering, production, and business teams to support upgrades, procurement, system reliability, and operational continuity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Provide daily IT support across desktop, infrastructure, application, network, voice, and manufacturing technology environments.
- Manage incidents, service requests, onboarding, offboarding, access rights, patching, updates, backups, and device compliance.
- Support plant-floor technology and coordinate with engineering and production teams to maintain uptime.
- Create user training materials, conduct training sessions, and promote IT best practices across departments.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure and application support.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, VoIP, and cloud services.
- Experience supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, servers, and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user and computer directory objects, antivirus tools, threat protection, encryption, firmware, and OS security standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, application, server, network, and access-related issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support users across multiple business functions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving, decision-making, multitasking, analytical, interpersonal, and consulting skills.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when entering manufacturing areas and follow site safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting IT systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, LIMS, or similar plant-floor applications.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices, security frameworks, and compliance standards.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar credentials.
- Experience coordinating with vendors for procurement, technical support, service delivery, and performance evaluation.
