Role Summary
The Device Shipment Coordinator is responsible for managing end-to-end device logistics between Sasken''s Burlingame (BUR) office and Sasken ODC Bangalore. This role serves as the key liaison between Sasken DRIs (Directly Responsible Individuals) and the ODC team, ensuring timely procurement, tracking, and delivery of wearable development hardware to support engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Device Demand Management
- Coordinate with Sasken DRIs to gather and consolidate device demand lists for wearables development (e.g., Hypernova, Malibu, Supernova, and other program devices).
- Maintain an up-to-date demand tracker with device types, quantities, requested timelines, and priority levels.
- Validate demand requests against project schedules and team allocation.
2. Enterprise Order Processing
- Work with Sasken''s enterprise ordering systems to place device orders for Sasken ODC Bangalore.
- Track order status from placement through fulfillment.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams for bulk or priority orders.
- Escalate delays or shortages to relevant stakeholders.
3. Reverse Logistics (RL) Shipment Requests
- Create and manage Reverse Logistics (RL) shipment requests for device transfers between Sasken''s Burlingame office and Sasken ODC Bangalore.
- Ensure proper documentation for international shipments (customs forms, export compliance, device manifests).
- Track shipment status end-to-end and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Handle device returns and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes.
4. Inventory & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of devices shipped, received, and in transit.
- Ensure compliance with Sasken''s asset management and export control policies.
- Coordinate with IT Asset Management for device registration and tracking.
- Support periodic inventory audits.
5. Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the single point of contact for device logistics between Sasken''s Burlingame office and Sasken ODC Bangalore.
- Provide weekly status updates on pending orders, in-transit shipments, and delivery confirmations.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and shipping providers for international logistics.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or hardware program coordination.
- Experience with enterprise ordering systems and shipment tracking tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams across US and India time zones.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel for demand tracking and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail for documentation and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with international shipping processes, customs documentation, and export controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a technology or hardware company environment.
- Familiarity with Sasken''s internal logistics, asset tracking, or shipment management tools.
- Experience with wearables or consumer electronics hardware.
- Understanding of reverse logistics (RL) and RMA processes.
- Prior experience coordinating between US and India-based teams.
