Description
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Westlake, Ohio. In this role, you will manage and optimize database systems to ensure high performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in database administration and a proactive approach to solving complex challenges.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Perform regular performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization to enhance database efficiency.
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and high availability solutions, such as Always On, Failover Clustering, and log shipping.
Develop and automate SQL scripts and jobs using SQL Server Agent.
Monitor database security, permissions, and compliance with best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance, availability, and data integrity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with business needs.
Conduct regular audits and maintenance to ensure database health and integrity.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members on database-related issues.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in database technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
At least 10 years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments.
Proven expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and high availability methods, including Always On and Failover Clustering.
Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and automation using SQL Server Agent.
Familiarity with SQL Server security, permissions, and compliance best practices.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance and integrity issues.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
