Summary

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer – Mobile & Playwright

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to work closely with Quality Engineering (QE) and development teams on a critical test modernization initiative: migrating automated and manual test suites to a modern, robust Playwright framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within two-week sprints, meeting coding standards, delivery timelines, and migration milestones while adapting testing strategies to changing priorities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain native mobile UI automation suites using XCUITest (Swift) for iOS and Espresso (Kotlin/Java) for Android. Cover critical user flows and integrate tests into existing scheme, build-flavor, and CI configurations.
  • Lead the hands-on migration of automated tests from Mabl and manual test cases from Zephyr Scale into maintainable Playwright suites using TypeScript/JavaScript and POM architecture.
  • Design and maintain reusable POM structures, shared utility libraries, and data-driven testing patterns to support consistent test development across multiple teams.
  • Integrate and optimize parallel Playwright execution within Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, including multi-agent configurations, to reduce regression and integration testing cycle times.
  • Perform comprehensive REST API testing using Postman and Playwright API testing capabilities, alongside UI automation, to ensure end-to-end coverage.
  • Partner with developers, QE peers, and product stakeholders to identify and implement product quality and testability improvements.
  • Create migration playbooks, document design patterns and best practices, and provide guidance that helps engineering teams adopt and expand the Playwright framework.
  • Use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar platforms to accelerate test generation, refactoring, and maintenance.
  • Identify automation challenges, investigate root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining native mobile UI automation using XCUITest (Swift, XCTest/XCUIApplication) for iOS and Espresso (Kotlin/Java) for Android. Experience must include Page/Screen Object patterns, simulator/emulator and physical device execution, and scheme/build-variant configuration.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, maintaining, and scaling web automation suites using Playwright, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Node.js, or 3 years of Playwright experience with 7 years of total web automation experience.
  • 5 years of experience architecting scalable test automation frameworks using POM, component fixtures, data-driven test structures, and parallel execution strategies.
  • 3 years of experience migrating test suites across tools or frameworks, such as Mabl to Playwright, Selenium/Protractor to Playwright, or manual suites to Playwright.
  • 3 years of experience with REST API test automation and validation using Postman, Playwright request context, or equivalent tools.
  • 3 years of experience configuring test execution pipelines in Jenkins, including parallel/distributed multi-agent execution, and managing repositories using Git/Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with Zephyr/Zephyr Scale and Jira within fast-paced agile release environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Direct experience with Mabl test structures and workflows.
  • Advanced familiarity with XCUITest and Espresso, including XCTest-based Page Object patterns, Espresso Idling Resources, Xcode schemes, and Gradle test tasks.
  • Experience with mobile device farms or cloud testing services such as Perfecto, BrowserStack, or Firebase Test Lab.
  • Experience creating migration runbooks, scaffolding templates, and shared test utilities for adoption across multiple teams.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
  • Experience with performance or other non-functional testing.
