  • Hybrid Cloud Integration: Manage seamless integration between on-premises data centers.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the migration to subscription-based models (e.g., VMware Cloud Foundation) and manage product suite updates.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using PowerCLI, Temporal, Terraform, or Ansible to automate provisioning and patching.
  • Performance & Observability: Develop and utilize AI-powered monitoring tools (e.g., VMware Aria Operations) to predict performance bottlenecks and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement zero-trust principles and system hardening to meet industry standards like NIST or STIGs.

What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Virtualization Core: Expert-level knowledge of vSphere 8.x+, vCenter Server, and vSAN.
  • Network & Security: Proficiency in NSX-T/NSX-V, load balancing, and firewall configuration within virtualized layers.
  • Automation & Scripting: Strong PowerShell/PowerCLI and Python skills; experience with Ansible or Terraform.
  • Storage: Deep understanding of SAN/NAS technologies and software-defined storage.
  • Cloud Native: Familiarity with VMware Tanzu or Kubernetes for managing containerized workloads.
  • Professional Tenure: 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or technology architecture, with a heavy focus on VMware environments.
  • Enterprise Scale: Proven track record of managing 500+ virtual machines across multiple global data centers.
  • Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to evaluate industry trends and recommend platform strategies to reduce vendor lock-in.
  • Mentorship: Experience guiding junior engineers and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Migration Projects: Led at least one major site-to-site migration or a transition from on-prem to hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Disaster Recovery: Hands-on experience designing and testing Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or similar high-availability solutions.
  • Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Advanced Professional (VCAP); Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator); Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP).
